Tips for
Construction of Cricket Practice Pitch using Concrete Base
1.Dress the exiting ground and level it
as per required height or level of the Pitch Surface.
2.Do compaction of the soil using a
mechanized earth compactor or manual means
3.The depth achieved finally after
compaction should be enough to allow for an average thickness of 4” of PCC with
some height (around half an Inch) from the rest of the ground
4.The PCC mortar mix should be of M-15
Grade which means following mix ratio
(Cement-1 Part : Sand-2 Parts : Aggregate-4 Parts(20mm))
5.The PCC mortar should be admixed with
Polypropylene Fibres @ 125 Gms per bag of cement.
a.The Cost of this is Rs 47/- Per Pouch
of 125 Gms
6.The PCC mortar also needs to be mixed
with Polymerizing and Bonding agent Smartbond 100® @ 2 Kg per bag of cement.

SmartBond-100 agent is Rs 5543/- per 20Kg Pack
7.After the PCC is laid and smoothened
out (using power trowel as a preferred method) the surface has to be coated
with a Surface hardening agent “Mastertop 33®” manufactured by BASF or similar.
This shall help in making the surface of the concrete even harder. This comes
as water like transparent material and has to be applied by squeegee and spread
evenly on the concrete surface. It can be applied after 24 hours on the
Concrete Surface.
8.Construction Joints should be cut
every 12 feet of Length to reduce occurrence of cracks and filled with a rigid
movement sealant.
9.The Dimension of the Pitch should be
7.5 width Ft by 40 Feet Length if you want to install Artificial Turf on it

a.The Width is suggested for 7.5 feet
as the Stock size of the synthetic turf available for Cricket Practice Pitch is
15 Feet. In 15 Feet Width we can install two practice cricket pitches. The
length of the pitch may be takes as 40 Feet or whatever is the requirement for
the practice pitch.
10. Please wait at least 21 days before
starting to use the pitch. Regular curing is suggested 3 or 4 times a day for
at least 10 days.
